Was strong over the ball and competed extremely well. 8 David O’Garey Dogga provided strong leads and competed hard when ball was in his area. He repaid the faith of selectors and performed well for the entire game. 12 Matthew Smith Smithy won numerous contested possession and used each one to the teams advantage. Put enormous pressure on the opposition with crunching tackles and ran hard the entire game. 13 Nathan Foale Nancy is the smooth moving half forward who can find space on every ground. A 1999 premiership player who used each of his possessions extremely well and capped off a consistent season with a great game. 14 Aaron Joseph Provide run and carry from the wing and defence. Fiercely competed or the ball and laid numerous tackles. AJ displayed the talent that makes him such an exciting prospect.15 Simon Spencer Spanner combined with Sam Chivers in the ruck and provided our midfielders with good supply. Ran and carried the ball, tackled strongly and completely dominated his direct opponents. Linked up play and used ach of possessions to advantage. Another leader who stepped up on the day. 19 Blair Kean In and under, Bk’s energy and zest was evident from the beginning of the game. His contribution to the team goes beyond the number of possessions won. Small in stature, his tackles and chases displayed his determination for success. 20 Brad Curran Blacky was a deserved winner of the Horrie Gorringe medal and captained the team to perfection. His dominance in defence was the springboard for many of Glenorchy’s attacks. The consummate professional has been rewarded for his great service to the Glenorchy Football Club. 21 David Newett Servicable22 Chris Glenn Swooper is a difficult match-up for any team and the fleet footed forward had several goal coring opportunities throughout the grand final. However, it was his three goals in the final quarter that went a long way to breaking the game open and securing his second grand final victory. 23 Damien McIver Maxy took very good form into the Grand Final but along with other players saved his best performance of the year for the most important. He played both with courage and flair as he shut down his opponents and rebounded strongly. 27 David Kamaric Disco played with his typical lack of care for personal safety as he backed into packs and laid crunching tackles. A key component to the ruthless defence, Disco thoroughly deserves his second premiership medallion. 28 David Hunt Playing exactly to instruction Hunty’s contribution of three goals was fantastic from our key forward. His defensive pressure and strong attack on the ball contributed greatly to our win. 32 Jaye Bowden The ‘Prince’ is a classy young wingman who became a third generation of Bowden to taste premiership success with Glenorchy. Played crucial roles across the midfield and in defence. 35 Ben Sweeney Sweens is a highly respected member of the team and was again trusted with curbing Clarences key small forward. He did this to great effect and was hard and reliable all day. 36 James Armstrong Armie played in the forward line for the majority of the game and displayed good poise when taking the ball inside the 50m area.38 Sam Chivers Chiv is no doubt the most improved player in the competition. He competed exceptionally well in the ruck against a proven player and when he gained possession of the ball he made good decisions. A very good game from another of the younger players in the squad.
