Dr. Mehret is an ongoing multimedia project that follows my work as a public health physican engaged in human rights and solidarity work. I am the Founding Director of TruthAIDS, a preventative health non-profit that is using multimedia platforms as tools of movement building for social justice. TruthAIDS grew out of my internal medicine residency research project which explored the alarming rates of HIV among women in the African Diaspora but has evolved into much more. This project has multiple formats including a blog (drmehretmandefro.com), podcasts, short film and upcoming print materials.This clip was taken from my first college campus outreach session at Barnard College.
