At home in the rainforests of Sumatra and Borneo Urangutans are threatened by extinction, due to deforestation and hunting. But in the Hagenbeck Zoo in Hamburg/Germany they live in safety and enjoy their life. In Hagenbeck Zoo they have all they need: contact to family and friends, good food and a nice environment. I have observed the Orangutans in Hagenbeck Zoo with my camera, filmed the youngsters playing and got shots of Tuan, the chief of the group´, when he presented his skills as a high-wire acrobat.
