      This Sunday we went to the Tamale Festival in Indio, CA. The first place we went to was Grandma Lupe's. There was a long line just like all the previous years (the tamales are excellent). We decided not to stand in line for two and half hours, Instead we sampled a couple of other vendors. Of course, since I started being a vegan again, I only ate the vegetable ones which were pretty darn good. Music Title: Latin Travel pond5.com

      The faux turkey (see above photo) made out of tofu is shaped like a bird and includes stuffing and gravy. It's amazing how much the texture resembled the white meat of a real turkey when sliced. Even the skin on the outside was crispy. If you're wondering if it tasted like the real deal... it doesn't, however it was still very good. That was so nice of my sister to do that! As always, we had a great time being with our family! Just want to thank Marie, Duane and Jacki, for all their hard work ...

      We hiked the Coachella Valley Preserve again to explore another new trail. More friends joined us on this 7 mile trek that took us a little over three hours to complete. Watch the above video to view some of the most unique and unusual rock formations. The trails at the Preserve are endless!
