Central text: Mark 9:2–13: “After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them….” I. The transfiguration shows that Jesus is God (Mark 9:7 with John 5:17–18; cf. also Isaiah 60:19–20) 2. The transfiguration shows that Jesus is the prophet like Moses (Deuteronomy 18:15–19; cf. also Exodus 19:9 and 34:29–35). 3. The transfiguration shows that Jesus is the Son of Man (Daniel 7:13–14; cf. also Mark 9:11–13; Malachi 4:5–6; Matthew 17:10–13; Luke 1:17)
