"I think that the reason that we are so popular" says Clark Hagins "is that we really strike a nerve with people - We are really direct,...its a bit like the way that Frank Zappa was,..or maybe Fee Waybill of the Tubes ,..or probobly Ray Davies of the Kinks,..We aren't afraid to sing or say anything,..even if it means offending people or pissing people off,..but mainly, we are just shocking,...We are the original "Shock Rock ,..or talk radio rock,..well,...atleast our lyrics are". Haggins goes on to describe a band whose time has come in the new millineum and who 'missed' their time Long ago when as Hagins says "It was meant to be". "We missed out on the real us,...and now people just Laugh and say that we are the Anvil of Grunge,....We're a pathetic band that never made it - who just can't let go,...but I think that is really because we rock so good,..we got top melody and people don't wanna let us go, they don't want us to go,...they want us to stay and rock". Hagins explains the huge appeal of G.e. online and their ability to really get people to watch attentively is locked in the band's "Real" feel. "We are the original reality tv" says Hagins " the key to us is we are real true fuck ups,...We are fucked up dysfunctional people ,..and it is both sad and really real funny at the same time - its a rare mix,...a rare deadly combination,...One look at me and people either Laugh, cry, or get very angry,...but there is definitely a reaction there,...You have to react to us,...there is no ignoring us and it is very difficult to call G.e. boring,..because it is plain that we were very drama people,...our art is entertainment,..we are very entertaining to Look at,..its fun". Greenhouse Effect actually often come off online as a very serious Rock band but then seem to destroy themselves with hillarious videos that completely 'don't go' with the music at all - ,..in a GOOD WAY !! "There is total contridiction to our band - We don't make any sense,..it is alot like me and my personal life,..it is very confusing to people ,...they have never seen anything like us" says Hagins "that is the key,...the key to G.e." "Waiting for your Love to fail!" is an angry diatribe of a song that Hagins wrote "About some chick in the South bay". "I just poured out all my heart and all my rage in that one" says Hagins "And then Phil Keegan just played like this heavy wild grunge guitar but then he threw on the most blazing rock guitar solo in the history of all music,..for a song that isn't even two minutes long,..it sure is an angry classic". And true it is that "Waiting for your love to fail" is one of Greenhouse Effect's Greatest Songs - a track that Keegan and Hagins remenise about and look back fondly upon the Mighty G.e. in delight at the songs now internet success... "All of our songs are successes" says Hagins "Songwriting and rage and pure passion - for better or for worse - is what the Mighty G.e. was all about " - May 1990. ================== The "IMMORALLY MORAL" Tape dropped into the South Bay in the early Summer of 1990 and the people who heard it all boasted of the way that G.e. 'revolutionized' music by colliding heavy metal, alternative, and punk like some kind of Large Hadron colider gone mad !! "We trully were the original organized grunge band" says Hagins "Everything about us from the way we dressed to the way we acted on stage to the way we played,...seeing us live was like seeing the Police - but if they all smoked crack". Bassist Rick Carmody fills out the other third of this classic power trio among power trios !!! "We have just amazing skills at being funny" Says Clark Hagins "The way we look is ridiculous, ....We are the funniest band EVER on the internet - but yet we make very serious songs - it is trully ironic,...Our music actually exactly reflects our very lives to the very detail and people can see that,....and it really comes across well on Jango Radio when people all around the World get to hear our songs,......My life of being like this totally little dude back in the South Bay - who got like no respect ,...and who just withdrew into his own world almost completely and turned into like the Character from the Who's Tommy - In our big reality here - it is just so ironic,...AND THEN BECAME A ROCK STAR On the Net !!...its just so weird how I am into the Who and all,...and the Way that Ted is ,..and even Flipper too,..and others in the band,...G.e. really reflects the world as it is - I mean the whole ENTIRE WORLD TOO " - Clark Hagins describe's G.e's music and Lyrics as if almost hypgnosis; "Its like a dream ,..and it's like De Ja Vue,....For years I walked around the world and people looked at me and did double-takes,....THATS BECAUSE they recognize me from that 'other world' - that is the World where I was supposed to have made it big and hit the big time ,..but it didn't happen,....NOW,...ITS FINALLY HAPPENING ATLAST - theres only one problem though now,....I'm fucking fat and 45 Years old now "" Hagins says that the biggest thrill (And Benefit) of being in his band is Selling itunes and Napster streams and downloads World Wide; "With the success of G.e. on the net, I can make a little bit of money now and buy my wife some nice things and go grociery shopping as some months it can be quite high.
