On 20 January, The Defense Education Forum (DEF) and the Foreign Policy Research Institute hosted a briefing by David Danelo. Drawing on his extensive field research on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border, Danelo provided an in-depth briefing on northern Mexico, illustrating the similarities and differences between Mexico’s drug violence and traditional political insurgencies. Noted Mexico and Latin American security scholars provided panel discussion following his presentation.
