Jose Pertierra, who represents the government of Venezuela in the case to extradite Luis Posada Carriles, speaks at a Left Forum 2012 panel on the Cuban 5. ------ Terrorism, like the blockade, has been part of US war on Cuba, which has killed thousands of civilians and disrupted the economy. Cuba offered to cooperate with the U.S. in combating terrorism, and the FBI sent people to Cuba to collect information the Cubans made available to them. Yet the Cuban 5, who had infiltrated illegal, terrorist organizations in the U.S., which had violated U.S. law, were the ones arrested and imprisoned, not the terrorists. The corporate media has been complicit with the government in covering thia up. Four of the Cuban 5 are serving long prison terms in U.S. prisons for their anti-terrorist work. Their anti-terrorist work has saved both Cuban and American lives. Those like Posada Carriles, responsible for blowing up a Cuban passenger plane, involved in the contra war and death squads in Venezuela, wanted for extradition for crimes in Venezuela and Panama, remains free in Miami.
