This is a showcase of DAB digital radio stations available in London as of January 2008. It's intended to let international users see the diversity of terrestrial digital radio stations in the UK as well as provide a 'try before you buy' sample of audio quality for anyone in the UK thinking about buying a DAB radio. [][][] The video features 15 second clips of all available stations recorded in the highest quality possible to give people a good impression of the sound quality digital radio stations transmit in. [][][] Unfortunately the format of this video results in the audio being encoded as 160kbps MP3 which means a few stations won't sound absolutely the same as they did when they came out of the radio, but it's still a good indication of general audio quality on DAB. [][][] A higher quality version of this video that uses MPEG4 video and 256kbps AAC audio is also available for a much more faithful reproduction of the original radio sound, however this format won't play in Windows Media Player by default. [][][] For the best experience, try using mPlayer, VLC or another Free media player which has better media format support and play the alternative AVI file in that instead. Quicktime 7 for Macs might play the file.
