While there are hints of the original Julie London version, Ms. Basinet’s rendition is particularly bluesy, while being a bit more sensual. Accompanied by a sensitive rhythm section, the singer displays her beautiful voice on a version full of desire, regret, and quiet satisfaction at how the broken love affair turned out.
