To celebrate Crane.tv's Music Issue we visit the workshop of Melvin Goldsmith, a modern master violin maker to discover the elements required in crafting a musical instrument. Having made his first violin at the age of 12, Goldsmith utilises techniques that date back to the 17th and 18th centuries.
