Maia Norman | Mother of Pearl Fashion Label

Maia Norman | Mother of Pearl Fashion Label Created by Maia Norman, Mother of Pearl is a label that blends art and fashion. With a degree in fine art from Parsons Paris School of Art & Design and having been linked to artists, such as Jay Jopling and former live-in partner, Damien Hirst, Norman herself has always had close ties with the art world, a fact that has influenced the brand heavily. Each season Mother of Pearl chooses an artist to work with, incorporating their work into designs through print. Past collaborations have included Polly Morgan, Keith Tyson and Gary Hume. For A/W '12 they tapped New York-based artist, Fred Tomaselli, known for his intricate paintings and collages. We head to their Clerkenwell studio to discuss the story behind the brand and admire the collection. www.motherofpearl.co.uk Subscribe to our newsletter at http://www.crane.tv Twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/CraneTV Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/crane.tv Blog: http://cranetv.tumblr.com/
