Marc Quinn on Contemporary Art. - Marc Quinn's notable and varied works include Siren, a life-size 18 carat gold rendering of Kate Moss; Self, a sculpture made from nine frozen pints of his own blood; and Alison Lapper Pregnant, which depicts the disabled artist Alison Lapper naked. Alongside Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin, Quinn is a member of the Young British Artists (YBAs) whose work still garners considerable recognition and controversy. His sculpture of Alison Lapper sat on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square, London, and was a highlight of the London 2012 Paralympic Games opening ceremony. Quinn, who will be exhibiting editions of his work at Christie's Multiplied Art Fair this year, speaks here on the subject of contemporary art, describing why he believes that art should be accessible and how it can help us explore the question of who we are. www.marcquinn.com - www.multipliedartfair.com - Follow Our Show for the best in contemporary culture!
