The following episodes detail the nightmare construction that I had to live through. The video tells the story and shows why I'm moving out of this apartment.
Final evening of major construction. Just when I thought things couldn't get worse. The video was shot after my cats and I spent most of the day outside in the freezing cold. The Deli on the ground level was nice enough to shelter my cats for a few hours while they were in their carriers...poor things. My neighbor came home in the evening and saw us stranded outside the building and invited us to stay with him for a few hours. On the 10th day of construction, one of the old wires caught on fire...
There are 6 workers in the apartment. I have had no privacy at all during the entire process. I spent 3 hours sitting in the bathroom, 3 hours waiting outside of the building in the cold, 1 hour in the building hallways, and 2 hours at my neighbors apartment.
Another evening full of dust. Daily aftermath of construction and cleaning every night before I go to bed in a dust infested apartment. Can barely breathe.
There was only 1 electrician today and he needed my help snaking wire through the walls. I spent a total of 2 hours helping. I guess I can add "electrician" to my resume. Electrician was in the crawlspace in the ceiling and I was feeding him a line to hook the wire to, so we could snake it down through the walls. The line is a steel line used to pull wire. It actually recoiled, hit my glasses and left a scratch....anger.
The nightmare continues. No tenant should ever be put out like this.
