When Kalamazoo city officials announced an early retirement incentive last fall, more than 200 employees opted to take part in the program over the next 2 years. Kalamazoo Mayor Bobby Hopewell and one of those early retirees, Kalamazoo City Manager Ken Collard, recently sat down with Connect to tell us how this plan got started and what this will mean to residents going forward.
