The Hawaii National Guard Youth Challenge Academy provides 16-19 year-olds “at risk” students life skills to be successful in the community while earning their high school diploma. Administered by the Hawaii National Guard since its inception in August 1994, the Academy has graduated 26 classes totaling 2,185 students (as of June 2007). Currently, 89 percent of the cadets that completed the program have earned their high school diploma.The ceremony was held at the Pearl City Cultural Center, adjacent to Pearl City High School, on Saturday, June 14, 2008
