On December 11, 2011 at First Congregational Church in Santa Cruz, a memorial service was held for Scott Kennedy. He was elected to three terms on the Santa Cruz City Council and served twice as mayor. He was also an activist and educator, and was a co-founder of the Resource Center for Non Violence.
