The Award-Winning Inaugural Solar Homes Tour for the San Joaquin Valley!Thank you to everyone who made the First-Ever Fresno Solar Homes Tour on October 1st 2005 a big success!The Fresno Solar Homes Tour was sponsored by NorCal Solar (a chapter of the American Solar Energy Society), the City of Fresno, and the Great Valley Center. 50,000 participated in the National Solar Tour that day. We had roughly 160 people take the Fresno Tour. We showed off nine solar homes and two large commercial solarinstallations totaling close to one megawatt on G St in Downtown Fresno. We spread the word about solar power in news segments about the tour on ABC, CBS, and FOX TV; KIRV and KFCFradio interviews; and in three articles in the Fresno Bee.
