Portland Community Media (PCM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the production of local, non-commercial public access media developed and produced in the community, by the community and for the community. PCM has served the citizens of Portland for more than twenty five years, providing education and tools for individuals and organizations to use cablecast and other media as a means of communication, civic involvement, artistic and cultural expression and community development. Learn more about PCM at pcmtv.org.PCM provides production services to the City of Portland and other government agencies including coverage of meetings of the Portland City Council, the Portland Development Commission, Metro Regional Government and special meetings. PCM actively partners with local non-profit and public interest organizations for coverage of local issues and events. PCM cablecasts locally produced television programming with service on six channels: 11, 21, 22, 23, 29 and CityNet30 (airing local government and public affairs programming). Channel 11 (the Community Access Network), reaches more than 400,000 cablecast subscribers in four counties.PCM's media education courses and classes provide members of the community with the skills to create cable television programs and other media. After completing classes, community members have access to PCM's video and multi-media equipment and facilities to produce local programming.PCM also offers specialized services to help non-profit services communicate their mission through media; youth media education services provided in partnership with schools, after-school program and community based organizations; and a free Community Bulletin Board service for community announcements by non-profit organizations, schools and other public service organizations.
