San Diego City Council consider the Blackwater settlement, $150,000 to stop Blackwater from suing them any more about their improper shooting range in Otay Mesa. This an example of how those with money can have their way with local government. Activists spoke out against the settlement, including Laurence Drury, Ray Lutz, Veronica Lavarello, and Pat Gustion(?). Lutz suggested that they request that Blackwater forgive the $150,000 judgment and improve city procedures so as to eliminate the possibility that other companies would be able to sneak such a project through the system.
