As this film was heavily influenced by Halloween, I wanted to challenge myself to make it as fresh and original as possible. One way I hoped to do this was by making it frightening and suspenseful without using music. Even John Carpenter admitted that, when viewed without a music track, Halloween isn't scary. The Tin Man is an experiment into the horror genre. One of my challenging goals with this film is that there is no explicit gore shown. All violence either occurs just out of frame or is obscured by shadows. This project is my thesis film for my freshman term in the SUNY Purchase Film Conservatory.
