In Uganda poverty, disease and violence are rife – which leads to hundreds of children being abandoned every year. Child’s i Foundation is helping solve this endemic problem. We firmly believe children should grow up in families and not in institutional care. Our Prevention Centre gives vulnerable mothers the vocational training and support they need to keep their children; our Baby and Family Centre provides short-term care for babies whilst our Family Placement team strives to ensure every child admitted into our programme grows up in a family.
With your help already, we've set up a babies home for up to 25 abandoned babies in Uganda. Our aim is to find every one of our children a loving Ugandan family within six months of their arrival. This Christmas we need YOUR support to keep our Home running and to give our babies a safe and happy future. Your gift can make a real difference. www.childsifoundation.myshopify.com
This is the story of how, with your support, Child's i Foundation has changed the lives of one family. They have been an inspiration to all of us who have been privileged enough to meet them and it has been our honour to work with them. Please support WORLD AIDS DAY on December 1st 2010
Our wonderful volunteer Georgina and amazing nursery teacher Christine teach some of the older kids about colours... using lots of paint!
It has been a busy six months for Child's i Foundation. We currently have 25 babies in our care and all our projects are running at full steam. Thank you for your Love, Time and Money, we would not exist without you.
Prevention being better than cure, we are working to stop babies being abandoned in the first place, by supporting vulnerable mothers.
Back in August the wonderful supporters of Child's i Foundation raised a staggering £10,000 in only 38 hours to pay for Joey's life-saving heart surgery. Yesterday a very happy and healthy little boy popped into Malaika Babies home to say hello.
After reuniting one of our babies with his father our amazing Family Placement Social Workers took the little boy to meet his extended family. Please help Child's i Foundation to place more vulnerable and abandoned babies in loving families - Visit www.childsifoundation.org
Child's i Foundation have received a wonderful donation of Johnson's baby products, which will supply both our Malaika Care Babies Home and Malaika Prevention mother and baby centre for a whole year. Thank you to Johnson and Johnson for such a generous donation.
Malaika Prevention, our mother and baby centre, gives vulnerable mothers the support they need to keep their children. We need a new manager for this amazing project so if you think you have the necessary skills please send your CV to Lucy@childsifoundation.org
