We concentrate on the first episode Rose and compare it to Steven Moffats era which we believe has gone off track with what the rest of the public want. RTD in our opinion brought people to watch Doctor Who who were not even interested in Science Fiction Programs before. That was a great achievement. He brought more girl fans into the show. Before Rose was aired a lot of women shied away from watching Doctor Who. But RTD knew how to capture their minds. He put Billie Piper in as Rose a 19 year old ordinary Woman who every girl in the land could relate to. She had no special powers and was simply a daughter to a single Mother on a Council Estate. Mickey Smith who was an ordinary car mechanic who went down the Boozer and watched football. He was yet another character that most blokes could relate to. The Doctor was no posh git either. He was a Northerner and tough with it. Gone were the Eccentric Clothes and in its place was a Leather Jacket and T-Shirt. RTD even made the laughable Daleks sinister again. It was now back to hiding behind the sofa. RTD when interviewed by Cardiff News he was asked what he would say to the fans who wanted him to make the Doctor a certain way. He just looked straight at the camera and said "I will ignore them and make the Doctor how I want" Moffat under RTDs leadership brought us such classics as Blink, Doctor Dances and Girl In The Fireplace. All of them were hard hitting. He also brought us River Song who at the time was an interesting character that everyone wanted to know more about. Tennant was virtually unknown to TV when RTD asked him to become The Doctor. It was a brilliant choice and Tennant gave an amazing performance. This brought in yet more new fans who liked the look of the new Doctor. Record figures of as much as near the 10 mill mark were recorded. That was unheard of apart from Christmas Specials.
