Way back in 1851, the people of Canada inhabited 87% of what was considered 'rural'. Today, only 20% decide to make their life outside of any city with a population greater than 1,000. Rural life just was not what it used to be, I guess. The downside: we maybe losing touch with a a huge part of our country that literally is so big it can fit the landmass of England (which has twice the population of Canada) into one of its provinces three times. Can you guess which one? While you are thinking about it, watch this week's Picture Show which explores the vast country side of this fair country of ours. Music provided by The Rural Alberta Advantage. All photos for this podcast were submitted to our Flickr Pool, but the best way to check out each of the contributing photographers is to view our arcadia bookmarks on Delicious.
