As part of National Novel Writing Month, a writing teacher at Corliss High School in Chicago, challenged her class to write a 50,000 word novel in one month. And at the end of that month, Open Books (open-books.org) reached out to Ms. Rushek and came up with a plan to help the most dedicated students from the class fulfill their dreams of becoming published authors. Stacy Ratner, Executive Director of Open Books, Kelli Rushek, a teacher at Corliss High School, Erin Walter, Literacy Director at Open Books and three student authors Tonedalle Edwards, Bianca Nelson and Chynicca Perry appear on Community Forum to share their stories. This program was produced by Chicago Access Network Television (CAN TV).
