The Caffe Cino was a tiny storefront theater in New York's Greenwich Village that gave birth to the careers of many of American theater's most eminent actors, directors and playwrights including Al Pacino, Bernadette Peters, Sam Shepard, Lanford Wilson, Robert Patrick, John Guare, Bill Hoffman, Marshall Mason and Tom O'Horgan.The work done at the Cino defined a generation, pushed the envelope, and set a tone that still resonates in theater around the world. The film includes interviews with many of the people who were there, and fresh performance footage of some of the Cino's most classic and outrageous plays.
