About this original series

“Bus Pirates” is an internet episodic series about pirates...on a bus. It was created by James Plaxton, Dave Lindsay, Ben Soper, and Tyler Soper as a follow-up to their short-lived series “Bakersfield Ninjas”. Engaging cinema at its most allegorical and pretentious level, the creators sought to construct a metaphor illustrating the plight of the Los Angeles public transit system. It was decided that, indeed, pirates (as opposed to Jesus or strippers) best contained the symbolic discourse on the post-hegemonic ideological state apparatus that is the transit system.* For what is el ciné, if not a living, breathing creature that will maul you if you get between it and its young? Eh? Chew on that. *this is all B.S.
