After ANOTHER, more elaborate trail fix, it was time to drop into the bowl on the 4th stage. Incidently, near the end of this stage is where Ken Blume flopped the day before. Save for a few back up points, this was a near perfect run, which set the stage for the final run on A5.
This was turning out to be a well thought out stage but more breakage reared it's ugly head. Note that the CAP trail fix from last time we broke, just before the carrier bearing, is holding strong... but it was the splined part after that that took a shit. Nice finger, Paulie.
After Phil and Rod drove 200 miles round trip in 2.25 hours, they returned with Phil's axle out of the White Blue YJ and had the rig fixed without missing a stage. It was a near flawless run on the second stage. The big drop-in resulted in several hard roof flops over the weekend, one with total cage failure, but Mike made it look smooth.
