The Bowie State University (BSU) Bull Dogs broke in the brand new artificial turf field during the 2010 season home opening on Saturday, September 25. In addition to celebrating the beautiful new field, the Bull Dogs also celebrated in victory, overtaking Virginia Union University, 28-27. This video features post-game interviews with Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley, Bowie State University President Mickey Burnim, PhD, Senator Douglass J.J. Peters, BSU Athletic Director Anton Goff, as well as representatives from the Bowie State University Foundation and the Bowie State University Alumni Association. The funding to convert the University’s multipurpose athletic field from grass to artificial turf was awarded to BSU by the Maryland General Assembly. Key supporters of the project include Senator Douglass J.J. Peters, also a member of the Bowie State University Foundation, Delegates Jay Walker, Michael Vaughan and Melony Griffith.
