Today's guest: Senator John Harrington (DFL) district 67, who gave an impassioned speech on the senate floor in response to the marriage amendment that is on the Minnesota ballot in November 2012. He grew up in an era where there were rules on who he could date and who he could marry because he is black. The struggle to change those rules and have the right to date whomever live strongly in his memories as it does for anyone who lived through that time period. The current marriage amendment battle is doing the same thing only limiting the options for a different group of people.
