Finding a "Voice" at the World's Biggest News Site, Yahoo's Jai Singh Explains

SUNNYVALE -- Ranked by far as the biggest news site, Yahoo lacks a distinct voice and identity, but that is changing says Jai Singh, Editor-in-Chief of the Yahoo Media Network in this interview with Beet.TV

Singh points to changes including hiring of "brand" journalists including Virginia Heffernan from The New York Times and others.

Wire stories, long a mainstay of news on Yahoo! has become a commodity, Singh says.

Singh joined Yahoo last year from the Huffington Post where he served as managing editor. He was the founding editor of CNET News.com.

We spoke with him last week at Yahoo's headquarters in Sunnyvale.
