SAN FRANCISCO -- television consumption is going to explode in growth over the next several years thanks to online and mobile video. That's the conclusion of Jeff Cole, director of USC's Center for the Digital Future, who studies media habits of consumers all around the world. I caught up with him at the recent 4A's conference in San Francisco and he shared some of his findings with us. He said in 1975, the average American spent 16 hours a week in front of a screen. Last year, that figure hit 34 hours and it should grow to 50 hours in a few years. Much of that growth will come from mobile video, as consumers watch more TV and more video in general on mobile screens. -Daisy Whitney, Senior Producer
