While in Vietnam, Beer America TV had the perfect opportunity to pay tribute to Gordon Knight. For those of you who don't know, Oskar Blues brews a brilliant beer called G'Knight. This beer was inspired buy their good friend and fellow brewer Gordon Knight, who was also a Vietnam Veteran and helicopter pilot. Unfortunately, Gordon was killed fighting fires in Colorado, so I thought it would be cool to bring his beer to Vietnam as a tribute.
It's the beginning of 2012, so we here at Beer America TV decided to talk about an excellent Porter to help warm you in the crisp air. Deschutes Black Butte Porter is their flagship brand with an extrememly sessionable ABV of 5.2%. Malty goodness with a slight hop bitterness makes this multi-award winning beer a must try! Here is a new beer blog that is old (never released it) that we just discovered from Alaskan Brewing Company. Beer America TV was so very fortunate to get a care package full of great Alaskan beers a few years back and this one is another winner! Alaskan Amber is smooth malty goodness with a nice hop note - in two words, well balanced! We are big fans of Alaskan and highly recommend that if you can get, you need to try it!
It's been a while since Beer America TV discussed a Dogfish Head beer, so thanks to our good friend at TexasBrews.org, Scooter Hendon, we've got one to share! Theobroma is part of the Dogfish Ancient Ale series brewed with Aztec cocoa powder, honey and chilies. One thing for sure is that it dosn't taste like what you'd expect from a flavor standpoint, but it's a winner none the less!
This week on Beer America TV we continue our goofy green screen series with Ska Brewing Company's Pinstripe Red Ale. This one is another great example of how Ska is separating themselves from the pack by brewing bold beers that are unique in flavor for their category! Pinstripe Red is brewed with caramel malts and liberty hops at a very sessionable 5.1 ABV. They both bottle and can their beers so keep an eye out the next time you go beer shopping. Sorry about the background, but we had to go w...
Beer America TV has reviewed several beers from New Belgium and it's always a treat to say the least! This week we dive into New Belgiums Abbey, which is a Belgian dubbel (or double) brewed with six different malts and an authentic Belgian yeast strain. Abbey is bottle-conditioned and the Winner of four World Beer Cup medals and eight medals at the Great American Beer Fest. To say that this one is one is a winner would be an understatement!
OK, we at Beer America TV know that Summer is officially over, but you can still find many summer brews still on the store shelves and if not, then put this one in your cue for next year. We're talking Harpoon Summer Ale from Harpoon Brewery in Boston MA. This is a Kolsch Style Ale that is easy to drink with a nice low ABV of 5%. Oh yeah, and please forgive us for trying this goofy green screen stuff - note to self, make sure you have the right tools for keying out green BEFORE shooting this w...

Brooklyn brewmaster Garrett Oliver and Schneider Weisse brewmaster Hans-Peter Drexler have been long time admireres of each others beers, so they decided to take what they like most about their beers and work a little magic.
