This Lance Armstrong Foundation video demonstrates the importance of impactful non-profits and determined people working together to cure cancer. Charlene McMann who, together with Scott Seaman, founded Chicago Blood Cancer Foundation, is shown in this video. Charlene was one of the organizers of the first Livestrong Day in Chicago in 2008. You can see Charlene wrapped in the yellow "Chain of Life" comprised of individual links containing the names and thoughts of people impacted by cancer which they wrapped around the State of Illinois Building. Let's take a moment to remember those who lost their battle with cancer, to hug those battling cancer, and to thank those volunteers across the country giving of their time, money, ideas, and energy to cure cancer and help those impacted by cancer!! Let's also make sure that blood cancer (lymphoma, leukemia, and myeloma) which account for nearly 10% of the cancer deaths in the US get the publicity and research funding required!
