Blood cancer research is the superhighway to curing cancer. Chemotherapy, radiation therapy, combination chemotherapy, stem cell transplants, and monoclonal antibodies originated with blood cancer. In this episode of “Battling and Beating Cancer” Dr. Stephanie Gregory, Professor of Medicine and Director of the Section of Hematology at Rush University Medical Center joins Chicago Blood Cancer Foundation founders Charlene McMann and Scott Seaman to discuss the present and future treatments for lymphoma, leukemia, and myeloma. Dr. Gregory discusses the current treatments such as chemoimmunotherapies and radioimmunotherapies. She talks about potential future treatments such as MTOR pathway inhibitors, SIC inhibitors, PI3K inhibitors, Cal 101, co-stimulants such as CPG, partial monoclonal antibodies, and vaccine therapies. You will not want to miss the Season One Finale of Battling and Beating Cancer – it is “must see cancer TV.”
