Brief Outline“Las comunas” are slum areas on the outskirts of the city Medellín, (in the North of Colombia), where decades of war have left people, armed and immersed in violent conflicts, representing their everyday life. Notas y Balas (Notes & Bullets) is the story of 4 groups of young musicians who live in “las comunas”, led by the association “Los Antimilitarismo Sonoro” (The Antimilitarism Sounds). In their absolute desparation they cry out, demanding justice, dignity and the cessation of all the armed hostile fronts. Their main weapon: their voiceTheir method: grenades of notes and harmoniesTheir vision: to face their destiny with strength and dignity“Los Antimilitarismo Sonoro” and the 4 musical groups are the essence of the documentary. It seeks to portray the artistic manifestations of these young people, in the middle of the Colombian war.
