CANTV will air a special show on iBAM! Chicago which gathers over 100 people from around the world in the Irish American Heritage Center to showcase some of the best Irish writers, artists, dancers, film, theatre, and musicians November 12-13, 2011 Friday, November 11, 2011, kicks off the iBAM! weekend with a black-tie optional gala honoring five exceptional individuals for their outstanding contributions to Irish American culture. The gala includes a strolling cocktail reception from 7pm to 8pm on the IAHC second floor arts wing, dinner in the beautiful Erin Ballroom on the top floor at 8pm. Father Andrew Greeley The iBAM! awardees for outstanding contributions to: Music: Maurice Lennon , Maurice Lennon Performing Arts: Mark Howard, Visual Arts: John David Mooney, Literature: Maeve Binchy , Person of the Year: Father Andrew Greeley. A special award will also be given to one of the many exceptional and deserving volunteers who support the IAHC.  A fundraiser for the Irish American Heritage Center and its Library, iBAM! is Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13 and opens each day at 11am. Co-produced by the IAHC, Irish American News and the Irish Book Club, iBAM! is a 2-day Irish cultural celebration that brings together as many as 100 authors, artists and musicians from North America and Ireland. The celebration features author readings and signings, art and museum exhibits, panel discussions, poetry readings and competitions, film screenings, live music, theater, dance performances and children’s activities, all under one roof. Festivities kick off at 11am daily, with a full Irish Breakfast and live entertainment. The breakfast is $12 for adults and $6 for children and tickets can be bought at the door. Authors will sign and sell their books each day from noon to 6pm daily. During the day, and into the evening, there will be live music performances with Irish musicians from Ireland and all over the US. The daily cost to attend iBAM! is $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Children 12 and under are free. Advanced tickets can be purchased by calling the IAHC at 773-282-7035, ext. 10 or visiting www.ibamchicago.com. Food and drink will be served all day and places to relax and enjoy a cup of tea or a refreshing pint will be available throughout the building.
