Though the true faith has sometimes been held but by few and often persecuted into near oblivion, yet the light of truth, the pure word, God's seed has ever been in the hearts of those He has chosen out of every generation by grace. The Lord assures us that He has overcome the world, and we who are His, who are with Him "called, and chosen, and faithful", dead to sin, washed by His blood, assured of life in Him by His Resurrection share in His triumph over this present world of sin and death.
