About this original series
Mission: To create better communication inside and build a bridge between Auroville, its local surrounding and the world.- Using the Web TV as a modern and powerful communication tool for Auroville and its residents.- A benefit for the local villages amongst whom the Auroville International Township is emerging, by developing goodwill through effective communication regardless of boundaries and cultural differences. - Collecting, recording and broadcasting aspects of Auroville - places, people and events in and around Auroville.- Shooting and broadcasting events related to� Auroville - worldwide and live.- Creating ad-hoc programs containing information, visual impressions and interviews.- Exploring and developing new ways of communication to create a valuable link between people of different cultures.- Involving people who are interested in this project, both inside and outside of Auroville.- Developing and preparing specific formats and programs, offering workshops and projects involving schools and other educational centers in Auroville. AurovilleTV started to broadcast on the Internet on August 13th 2008.

DASHA AVATAR
The Tamil New year "Puthaandu" celebrations in Auroville include a cultural program with different types of dances, performed by young, talented students of schools of the Auroville area. This Odissi Dance is performed by a group of Udavi School students, trained and prepared by Kanchana.

FACCETTENREICH
In 2010, 16 Weltwaerts volunteers from Germany spent a year in Auroville. With the idea of keeping some videos as a memory of their stay, they started filming with a mini DV camera. The project grew fast and, at the end of their year, they suddenly ended up having produced a full length documentary video. It shows the work and daily life of 16 Weltwaerts volunteers in Auroville.

Dawnfire August 2011
The traditional dawnfire (fire at dawn) during a collective meditation at sunrise in Auroville's amphitheatre, for celebrating Sri Aurobindo's birth date on August 15, which is also the celebration date of India's independence. Aurovilian and friends participate in this gathering, enriched also by flower decorations which are prepared also collectively in the previous afternoon, and change every year.
