What followed is known today as the Rape of Nanking or Nanking Massacre. And in New York this weekend, local Chinese groups came out to rally for greater awareness of the massacre and for human rights in general. Emotions over the Nanking Massacre also swelled up late last month, over the filming of a new Japanese movie called "the Truth About Nanjing." The movie claims the Nanjing Massacre never happened, and compares Japanese war criminals to the 'Seven Samurai,' and Jesus.
