SALINAS CHILDREN - THINKING THROUGH ART was a featured exhibit at the National Steinbeck Center in SalinasMarch 7 - 31, 2008 Presented by the Arts Council for Monterey County, In the video Linda Pedrazzini Hevern explains the importance of the project to the Board of the Arts Council for Monterey County. This exhibition shows artwork from three projects supported by the Arts Council for Monterey County and taught/ facilitated by Kira Carrillo Corser and Linda Pedrazzini Hevern. It represents pro-active methods of improving the health, education and safety of Monterey County’s communities, beginning with East Salinas. The three projects featured include: The Migrant Ed Art Institute, ASES Program Art Classes, and East Salinas COmmunity Group with Poder Popular. Michael Houston shot the video and stills. Music was provided by Jay Tolanson. Video services were provided by John Longenecker and Picture America.org.
