Katerina Valdivia Bruch is a Berlin-based independent dancer and choreographer, who researches on dance and other fields of art. She collaborates with different artists, such as experimental musicians and visual artists, focussing on interdisciplinary work. In the nineties, she has been actively working for different dance companies in Peru, participating in local and international festivals. In 2000, she moves to Berlin and starts creating her own pieces, mainly as a solo performer. Her choreographies have been presented in Spain, Serbia, Indonesia and Germany. www.artatak.net

Dance: Mila Rosinta, Sekar Kinanti Rahina, Made Dyah Agustina Choreography: Katerina Valdivia Bruch During three months, the dancers Mila Rosinta, Sekar Kinanti Rahina and Made Dyah Agustina have been learning contemporary dance technique. Using improvisation based on the movements given in class, the dancers have developed a piece that is based on breath (nafas), as a basic principle for life and as a natural body movement. Choreography and dance: Katerina Valdivia Bruch. Centre Cultural de Les Corts, Barcelona, Feb. 2007. This dance piece is based on the film Kedma of Amos Gitai. It refers to the fragility and unstability felt by the navigators going by sea to Israel for the first time. The boat members are foreigners, not even the language bonds them, just the fact of being Jewish makes them get into the boat and go. Presented in Berlin in October 2007 as part of the Nah Dran series at Ada Studio.
