A webcast recording of the New York City Revit Users Group featuring Chuck Mies, Dick Thomas and Aaron Phillips. Building Information Modeling continues to accelerate in the Design and Construction phases of projects. As this trend continues, and the pipeline of BIM Projects that are in and completing construction grows, building owners are starting to ask as to benefits of the model after occupancy. This is an important distinction, because as much as 90% of a total buildings cost occurs after occupancy in Operations and Maintenance and finally decommissioning. Add to this fact the increasing complexity of buildings and the systems within them, and you can see a potential for the application of the Building Information Model after occupancy. Many owners, in particular campus-based owners such as Universities and large commercial concerns have started to look at this in detail. This presentation will capture many of the thoughts of these large owners and help you start to understand why this is important to them.
