This Dutch documentary won a prestigious American prize. The Dutch documentary 'Stand by the Stars' is the last part of a trilogy about an Indonesian Christian family in the slums of Jakarta. The documentary received the Humanitas Award last night from the International Documentary Association. In "State of the Stars" follows author Leonard Retel Helmrich family for twelve years. In 2001 and 2004, the first two parts of the triptych, "Position of the sun" and "State of the moon. The film won the top prize as early as January at the Sundance Film Festival World Cinema Documentary category. Two weeks ago he was shown on Dutch television. Curious? Video is getting more and more an important means of communication. With a normal/simple camcorder/mobile-phone everybody can make interesting video's. Making a better video is a complete different story.
