The San Diego Lawyer Chapter of ACS invites you to our Third Annual Reception featuring: Keynote Speaker: Pamela S. Karlan ~ Kenneth and Harle Montgomery Professor of Public Interest Law and co-director, Supreme Court Litigation Clinic, Stanford Law School; member, ACS Board of Directors Professor Karlan has been mentioned on the "short list" of possible Supreme Court nominees and was recently an advisor to the Mexican American Legislative Caucus in the Texas redistricting litigation. Honoring with the inaugural Roberto Alvarez Award*: Justin P. Brooks ~ Project Director, California Innocence Project; Professor of Law, California Western School of Law; Director, LL.M. in Trial Advocacy, California Western School of Law; Executive Director, Institute for Criminal Defense Advocacy and Jan Stiglitz ~ Co-Director, California Innocence Project; Professor of Law, California Western School of Law * The Roberto Alvarez award is named in honor of the plaintiff in one of the first school desegregation cases that took place right here in San Diego County in 1931.
