What is a Plein Air event? Literally, plein air is the technique of painting outdoors under natural conditions. It poses a number of challenges for painters including having your paints exposed to the elements and separating or drying out, the painter being exposed to the elements, changing light conditions, and time. The Frank Bette Center's Plein Air Paintout is the City of Alameda's definitive art event in the City. Plan on joining us wither as a participating artist or as a patron.
