Having a child face the rear is the safest way to ride in a car. As you can see in this short clip, facing forward puts tremendous stress on the neck and head of a little child. Compare this to my other clip where the child is facing the rear. It's a huge difference. A child should always face the rear as long as possible. Preferably until age 4 or 5.
