A conversation with Indonesian journalist and author Lily Yulianti Farid. Following her appearance as a featured speaker on a panel about global journalism and organizing at the Women, Action & The Media 2009 Conference in Cambridge, I invited Lily to Cambridge Community Television for a quick tour and a brief interview. Lily is also the co-founder and editor of www.Panyingkul.com, the first citizen journalism website in Indonesia. I asked Lily about her motivations for starting a collaborative project between professional journalists and citizens and about the kind of challenges she has faced while running the project.
