While the University of Minnesota has neglected its public art curriculum, the College of Visual Art in St. Paul is doing its part to educate students about creating work in the public realm. Andrew Leicester, an internationally accomplished public artist living in Minneapolis, asked his students last semester to to conceive, engineer and draft proposals for a would-be public art project in front of the Union Depot in St. Paul. 3-Minute Egg checked out their work.
