CSR Minute: SC Johnson and GfK Roper Release Green Consumer Survey; Ernst & Young Employees Volunteer in DC Area

SC Johnson and GfK Roper Consulting have released survey findings on American consumer green attitudes and behaviors. Part of the 20th Anniversary Green Gauge Survey, the SC Johnson report concludes that 75 percent of American consumers say they feel good when they take steps to help the environment. The survey also shows that compared to 1990, Americans are now two times as likely to recycle their trash and to buy products made from or packaged in recycled materials.

600 employees from Ernst & Young’s Washington D.C. offices participated in community outreach projects last week on the company’s fifth annual day of service. Volunteers attended 11 locations in the Washington area, helping out with work focused on education, entrepreneurship, and environmental sustainability. The program partnered with several nonprofits, including the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship, Boys and Girls Club of America, and Alternative House.
